I'm a people person and have enjoyed spending my working years with others, helping them improve their lives either through education or health. Now feels the right time to blend these two fields of support and offer a range of practical and effective strategies to address the symptoms of stress and anxiety. I have practiced yoga for more than 20 years and have experienced the positive emotional and physical benefits which have helped me through illness and psychological challenges. I'd love to work with you to help bring your life into a better place.

Stress management courses using yoga techniques
Why use yoga techniques to relieve stress?
Yoga is a healing practice which has been used for centuries to improve the health of the mind and body. Its benefits in tackling stress and anxiety come from calming down the body's natural response from the sympathetic nervous system. The practice of releasing muscle tension, focusing the mind and mastering breathing exercises, soothes the nervous system and promotes the engagement of the parasympathetic nervous system. Yoga also creates chemical changes within the body. It increases the level of endorphins (happy hormones) and gama-aminobutyric acid (GAMA), a neural transmitter that naturally combats anxiety and improves one's mood. At the same time it reduces the level of cortisol which the body produces in response to stress. These chemical changes then manifest in a physical way, lowering the heart rate and blood pressure, and stimulating the vagus nerve which aids
relaxation
